Use the path that matches your responsibility. A production deployment usually requires several of these roles to work together.

Buyer or service owner

Use this path to evaluate the service and establish ownership:

1. Understand the platform.
2. Review what AI means.
3. Compare profiles and capacity.
4. Agree on shared responsibility.
5. Confirm support and compatibility.

Azure administrator

Use this path to prepare and deploy the managed application:

1. Complete Marketplace prerequisites.
2. Fill in the deployment planning worksheet.
3. Deploy your first instance.
4. Follow deployment status.
5. Review deployment outputs.

Network or DNS administrator

Use this path to establish the approved connection:

1. Complete the network design.
2. Choose public or private access.
3. For private access, configure the Private Endpoint, DNS, and TLS in that order.
4. Use connectivity troubleshooting to validate the complete path.

Security or identity administrator

Use this path to establish authentication and least privilege:

1. Sign in securely.
2. Manage users and roles.
3. Configure Microsoft Entra single sign-on when the managed action is available.
4. Review roles and permissions.

Elastic administrator

Use this path for application-level administration:

1. Onboard data.
2. Monitor health and capacity.
3. Review snapshots and restore.
4. Prepare for maintenance and upgrades.

Data user

Use this path to validate access and work with approved data:

1. Sign in to Kibana.
2. Ingest synthetic test data.
3. Search and visualize data.

For tasks that cross ownership boundaries, use the shared-responsibility model before making a change.
