Next steps overview
Start these steps after you receive the Your deployment is ready notification.
The notification confirms that platform readiness checks have passed and provides the available Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Fleet endpoints.
Complete the following steps in order.
1. Reset the Elastic password
Reset the initial Elasticsearch administrator password before sharing platform access or configuring integrations.
Reset the administrator password.
2. Configure networking
Configure the network path required for your deployment.
If public access is enabled
Verify that the required public endpoints are reachable from the networks that need access.
If private access is required
Create an Azure Private Endpoint using the Private Link information provided for the deployment and make sure the required client networks can reach it.
3. Configure DNS
Configure DNS for the endpoints you plan to use.
Platform-provided DNS domain
Use the hostnames provided by the platform. Additional customer DNS records might not be required.
Company-owned DNS domain
Create the required DNS records using the endpoint information provided by the platform.
For private access, make sure the service hostnames resolve to the Private Endpoint from the required client networks.
See:
4. Configure certificates
Complete the certificate workflow for the service hostnames that require customer-provided certificates.
Make sure the certificate covers the required Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Fleet hostnames and is trusted by the clients that will connect to them.
5. Verify access
After networking, DNS, and certificates are configured, verify:
- DNS resolution;
- HTTPS connectivity;
- TLS certificate validation;
- Elasticsearch access;
- Kibana access.
Verify Elasticsearch and Kibana access.
Platform ready for use
After access verification succeeds, continue to Operate to:
- configure users and single sign-on;
- onboard search or observability data;
- use Elasticsearch and Kibana;
- monitor and manage the platform.
